About

Becky & Sue at conference

Hi!

I’m Susan Stevens, wife of Pastor Mike Stevens and mother (and step-mother) of five sons, mother-in-law of three women, and grandmother of 9.

Mike and I were missionaries in Ecuador for the13 years. We planted a church in the capital city, Quito, and then left that in the hands of a capable pastor and moved to Guayaquil, the largest city, to take over an existing church.  I’ve been involved in many areas of the church, but my very favorite is teaching women.  We moved from Ecuador to Costa Rica 4 years ago and planted a church in San Jose.

I’m what’s called a tent-making missionary.  That’s a reference to the apostle Paul supporting himself as a tent-maker.  I work as a teacher to help support us on the mission field.

Health issues keep me from doing much of what I’d like to do on the mission field, but God has led me into writing and blogging–which has been a great blessing to me, and I hope to my readers as well.

Favorite things:  Reading, writing, coffee, talks with friends, time with the family, the mountains, walking (not in that order).

It probably goes without saying that glorifying Jesus Christ through studies of His Word is my MOST favorite thing.
